To the left of the centre bar: Reading down.—Brown buttons, ladder slots form trimming on the tongue of the British tan calf shoe with dark brown suede quarter. The popular combination of navy gabardine with matching patent trim is illustrated in the second shoe from top, with a moderate heel and the very wide strap. -White kid piping and white pearl buttons are detail. The open shank shoe with wide strap appears third, in the same combination, but done in brown gabardine and patent. The patent is stitched, and there are cut-outs on the vamp. Another variation of the button-trimmed tongue is shown at the bottom. In all navy patent leather, this again shows the open shank and the cut-outs are bound in grosgrain. To the right of the centre bar: Reading down.—A variation of the high buckled open shank shoe, done in navy patent and gabardine. One of the novelties of the season is this variation of the Baboosh shoe in black patent with white “lacing” up the high front and white kid piping. A classic type is the final shoe in this series, at the bottom of the righthand column, another combination of navy gabardine and patent in buttoned collar effect.
