RACEHORSE INCIDENT.

THREE MEN REMANDED.

(United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 10.10 p.m.) Sydney, February 18. As a sequel to the racehorse incident Gordon William Watson, aged 27, a jockey, Ronald William Watson, aged 29, a jockey and Alfred William Twyman, aged 35, a clerk, were remanded in the Police Court to-day. They were charged with unlawfully assaulting Eileen Cain on Saturday. The prosecution alleged that the three defendants, in company. with two others, had gone to Mrs Cain’s home and knocked her about rather badly. The prosecution added that it was also alleged that the racehorse Supreme Court was taken and in connection therewith further charges would be preferred. The defendants’ counsel stated that the defence had a perfect alibi.

New Zealand’s mystery horse, Supreme Court, figured in a series of dramatic incidents on Saturday. Several men forcibly took the horse from the Kensington stables of Albert Cain while Cain was on his way to Warwick Farm and they are alleged to have assaulted Mrs Cain, who attempted to stop them removing the horse. The police subsequently found Supreme Court in stables at Randwick. Finally a man claiming to be attorney for the owner took possession of Supreme Court.
