AMERICAN INVESTIGATION. CHARGE AGAINST BRITISH FIRM. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Washington, December 5. The statement that Nobel, Limited, the British munitions firm, had been guilty of “winking” at the rearming of Germany in violation of the Versailles Treaty, was made to-day to the Senate Munitions Committee by Senator Arthur Vanderberg, who is conducting the inquiry. Correspondence between the Dupont Company and its foreign department said that Nobel’s could have brought pressure on the British Government to stop the violation of the peace pact by German manufacturers in 1926, but that it did not do so because of its German connection. ... Irenee Dupont, testifying, criticized Senator Vanderberg for blaming Nobel s. He added: “Certainly the British Government knew all about this situation. Krupp’s announce that after a period of considerable losses business has improved during the past year, enabling a special bonus to be paid to employees, otherwise the Krupp family is not drawing any dividends, but is using a “moderate profit” to strengthen the firm’s finances. .
