BUFFETED IN STORM
SMALL CRAFT OFF VICTORIA. SWEPT BY BIG SEAS. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) Melbourne, December 6. Although some small vessels which were overdue have now arrived safely at Melbourne, two ships, the ketch Ada Burgess and the yawl Seaweed, have been wrecked near Cape Liptrap. Both vessels were beached and the crews landed safely. . Tire ketch Aristides has arrived after being twenty-two days out from Hobart, having been weatherbound for over a week. Once she was almost swamped, and her sails were ripped to tatters. Captain T. Spaulding, who is over seventy years of age, was lashed to the wheel for forty-eight hours. He was frequently submerged by big seas. The bulwarks of the Aristides were smashed on both sides.
