Dance At Edendale
Last evening Mrs Donald Macdonald gave a very jolly party for her granddaughters, Misses Barbara and Mary Allan, of Wellington, who are her guests at present. The young people spent a very happy time in dancing and all enjoyed themselves immensely. Those present were:—Misses Robin Macdonald, Myra Crawford and Barbara Macdonald (Invercargill), Miss Shona Dunlop (South Hillend). Misses Mary and Pat Dunlop (Dunedin) and ' Miss Priscilla Wunsch (Edendale); Messrs Angus and Cliff Baird (Wynd- i ham), Gate Macdonald, Arthur Gilmour, Sealy Woods and lan Douglas (Invercargill), Bonna Dunlop (South Hillend) and Miles Henderson (Auck- , land.) 1
Mrs W. McDowell, Lorneville, and Mrs H. Cox, South Hillend, returned from the Lakes District during the week.
Miss Trixie Pryde, of Christchurch, is spending the holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs T. Pryde, McMaster street.
Mrs S. T. Anderson and Miss Margaret Anderson, of Dunedin, are the guests of Mrs L. W. Spencer, Albert street.
Mr and Mrs Alan Dunlop returned from Stewart Island on Wednesday. They leave to-day for a holiday at Wanaka.
Mrs G. H. Uttley, the Rectory, Crinan Street, will leave early next week for a holiday in Timaru and Christchurch.
Miss Lorna Hallamore, who has been the guest of Mrs W. Anderson, Cannington Road, Dunedin, returned home during the week. Misses Thelma and Olwynne Strang, Yarrow Street, left last week for Wanganui, where they will spend the summer holidays. Miss Winifred Barrett, of Christchurch, arrived in Invercargill on Wednesday. She leaves for Stewart Island on Sunday. Mr and Mrs Charles Bridgeman and their small son David, of Hedgehope, i are spending the Christmas holidays at the Rocks, Riverton. Miss Laurelle Slyfield, of Kelburn, Wellington, is spending a holiday in Invercargill as the guest of Mrs J. Bartlett, St. Andrew street.
