BENNETT-McANERGNEY.
St. Rowans, Dacre, the residence of Mr and Mrs W. C. Taylor was the scene of a happy wedding on Wednesday, when Kathleen Mary McAnergney, elder daughter of Mrs S L. Harris, DunI edin, was married to Herbert Edward Bennett of Barnesley, England. Mr G. Fretwell was the officiating minister. The bride who was given away by her uncle, Mr W. Taylor, wore a frock of white georgette and lace with slimfitting bodice, long tight sleeves and the skirt inset with godets of lace. A. full length veil and coronet of orange blossom, silver shoes and the traditional bouquet of cream roses, bride lilies and maiden-hair fern completed the ensemble. The bridesmaid, Miss Mavis McAnergney, was dressed in salmonpink georgette, made with long tightfitting bodice, short puff sleeves and full flared skirt; a black hat trimmed with pink and black satin shoes. Her bouquet was pink sweet peas, roses and maiden-hair fern. Mr G. McAnergney was best man. Despite the boisterous day, the sun shone long enough at the wedding hour to permit of the ceremony being held on the lawn, after which an adjournment was made to the barn where the breakfast was laid, the customary toasts being duly honoured. The young couple left by car on their honeymoon. They will reside at Tuturau on their return.
HANAN—HART. The marriage took place on Saturday last ,in St. John’s Church, Milton, of Doris, youngest daughter of the late Mr T. L. Hart and of Mrs Hart, of Timaru, and Gordon Royland, second son of the late Mr J. A. Hanan and of Mrs Hanan, of Invercargill. The Rev. J. A. Kempthorne officiated. The ceremony was a very quiet one, only the bride and bridegroom’s immediate i relatives being present. A small reception was held afterwards at the I residence of the bride’s sister, Mrs I James Cochrane, of Tokoiti. Later the young couple left by car for their new home in Invercargill. CROAD—WOODWARD. A quiet wedding was solemnized at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Manse, Invercargill on Wednesday, December 20, when Mavis Ruth, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. E. Woodward, Invercargill, was married to John Gordon youngest son of Mr and Mrs T. E. L. Croad, also of Invercargill. The Rev. E. Gardiner officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a delphinium blue frock and white hat, gloves and shoes. She was was attended by her sister, Miss K. Woodward, who wore a navy satin beaute frock relieved with touches of white and' white hat, gloves and shoes to tone. | The bridegroom was attended by Mr R. Champion. Mr and Mrs John Croad ; will live in Invercargill.
