RIVERTON

Mr and Mrs F. Boldero, of Christchurch, are visiting their parents. Mrs Baker, of Te Anau, is the guest of Mrs J. B. Hunter, Shrewsbury street. Mr and Mrs D. Little, of Gore, are visiting Mr and Mrs P. B. Bemdtson, Havelock street. . The euchre evening in aid of tne football club attracted a good attendance on Thursday. Mrs G. Dickson was first in the ladies’ class, with Mrs W. Spencer second. Messrs H. Rogers and T. Bulman were first and second respectively in the men’s. Those present were: Mesdames C. Gray, W. J. Winton, E. Ross, W. Hopwood, E. Eade, Spencer (2), Trempath, J. McLean, G. Dickson, Thompson, W. Leader, Misses Clark, Woodward, de Clifford, Mills; Messrs Eade (2), Spencer (2), Stenton, Patterson, Rogers, de Clifford, Prosser, Banks, Henderson, Bulman, Hopwood, Tweedie, Matheson, Revs. Wallace and Thompson. . . Miss E. Leader, who has been the guest of Mr and Mrs T. Robertson, has returned. . A very enjoyable evening was held on Wednesday at the Anglican vicarage, the proceeds going towards the Plunket Society funds. The prizes for the best scores went to Mesdames Hunter and Caigou, while Mrs Hopwood won the hidden number prize. Mrs Molloy and Miss Molloy have returned from a holiday spent m Christchurch. Mr and Mrs A. D. Mclvor have returned from Dunedin. . . At the euchre tournament m aid of the English Church funds, Mrs C. Gray carried off first honours in the ladies class, Mrs W. Hopwood being second. Messrs E. Eade and H. Rogers accounted for the other prizes. Mrs J. Cameron and Miss Margaret Cameron, of Dunedin, who have been visiting friends, left for home on Friday. Miss M. Reidie, of Gropers Bush, who is shortly to be married, was entertained by members of the Farmers Union at an afternobfi last week. Mrs A. Sutherland and son, of Brunswick, who has been spending a holiday with friends, has returned. Miss Patricia Powell, Thornbuiy, has been visiting friends at the seaside.
