Mr and Mrs G. Adams, of Milton, were the guests of Mrs A. Adams, Eglington street, last week. Miss Reah Mitchell has returned to Balclutha after spending a few days with Mrs C. D. Moore, East Winton. Mr and Mrs L. McKenzie, of Invercargill, spent a few days with Mrs W. M. Norman, Forest Hill, last week. Mr and Mrs C. Barham and family, of Dunedin, are the guests of Mrs J. B. Wilson, Queen street. Mrs W. J. Cowie, of Centre Bush, and her daughter, Mrs C. McKenzie, of Invercargill, left last week to spend an extended holiday in Queenstown. Miss R. McKenzie, Arthur street, has returned form a holiday spent at Tuatapere. Miss E. Boyd, of Dunedin, is spend- ' ing a holiday with her parents at Limehills., The Rovers Basketball Club held a further enjoyable euchre party on Monday evening, June 12, eleven tables being engaged. The ladies’ prize was won by Mrs Austin and the men’s prize by Mr H. A. Pierce. The aggregate prizes were won by Miss A. Tippett and Mr G. Cowie. The lady supporters of the Winton Fire Brigade conducted another successful euchre party on Tuesday evening, the prizes going to Mr and Mrs ■ H. A. Pierce respectively. Nurse W. Mrs H. Molloy, John street, spent a few days in Invercargill last week. A euchre party held under the auspices of the Catholic Church was held in the Lir. .chills Hall on Tuesday last. The successful players were Miss M. Thompson and Mr L. Brosnan, while Miss G. Payne and Mr •J. Doherty secured the second prizes. Mrs H. P. Cowie, of Alexandra, was a visitor to Winton last week. . . Mrs W. King, of Christchurch, is tne guest of Dr Moana Gow. Miss N. McLean, of Oreti, has returned from Dunedin. There was a large attendance at King’s barn, “Tile Bend,” on Monday evening, June 12, when the annual dance of the Winton Dog Trials Club was held. The building was decorated with streamers and greenery, while a feature was the presence of the Phillips sisters, who contributed several vocal items. The Lyric Orchestra (Winton) provided music and extras were contributed by Miss M. Melton (piano), Messrs H. Perrelle (effects), L. Perrelle (violin) and H. Gilmour (bagpipes). Mr J. M.
