CLAIM REJECTED
COMPENSATION FOR LORRY DRIVER’S DEATH, (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 14. “It cannot be stated too definitely and emphatically that the mere fact a man dies at his work is not in itself sufficient proof that his death was due to an accident arising from his employment,” said Mr Justice Frazer in a reserved judgment to-day. He rejected a claim for £lOOO damages made by the widow of a lorry driver who was found dying on the roadside beside his lorry. His Honour said the deceased was in such a condition that he might have died at any time and it had not been proved his death was accelerated by his work.
