Bannerman appeared m support of an application by the Nokomai Gold Mining Company for a special alluvial claim for 19 acres m the Nokomai district. No objection was lodged, but Mr N. Watson appeared on behalf of the trustees of the property. He said that the trustees had no objection to a license being granted provided the company made a sheep track to replace the one which would be destroyed in the mining operations. Mr Bannerman said that he was instructed that the existing sheep track was being lost by river erosion and would need to be replaced by the trustees and further that the license did not cover the land over which the trustees desired the track to be made. The application was recommended for consent and costs 27/6 were allowed the applicants for the special visit of a principal of the company who attended the hearing.
