STAR OF SOUTHLAND LODGE.
The monthly meeting of the juvenile branch of the Star of Southland Lodge, No. 14, was held in the rooms, Don street, on Saturday afternoon, W. M. Bro. A. Hughes presiding over a large attendance of officers and members. Six members were balloted for and initiated into the lodge. Sister Hughes, the superintendent, gave an interesting report of the last hike of the Tramping Club. They had gone through No. 1 gardens, the Winter gardens, No. 3 gardens and right up to the children’s playground in Elies road. On the next hike it was intended to go through Victoiya Park, The Rose Gardens and the Water Tower. It being Sister Betty’s birthday party the lodge was closed and the children were entertained at games. At. a suitable interval the birthday cake was brought in with five candles on it. Sister Betty lit them and cut the cake. After everybody had had a piece of cake the party was brought to a close.
