ERMEDALE NEWS
BASKETBALL CLUB FORMED. (From Our Correspondent.) On Saturday last an enthusiastic meeting of young people was held in the schoolroom and it was decided, to form a basketball club in the district. The following officials were elected: President. Mr'G. Crawford; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Stalker, Douglas, Fraser and Cleaver, Messrs A. Johnstone, J. Douglas, J. Fraser, E. Whip; secretary, Miss G. Fraser. Practices were arranged for Saturday afternoons commencing May 27. It is hoped that the interest at present shown will continue through the season. A ball to raise funds is to be held early in June. Personal. Nurses Sarah and Jean Allison, Dunedin, are at present spending a vacation with their parents. Nurse Fraser, Gore, was home for the week-end. The Misses Douglas are spending the school holidays in Invercargill. Miss Brotherston motored home to Lumsden during the week-end.
