NATIVE BIRDS
STRINGENT PROTECTION URGED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Hobart, November 1. The Royal Australasian Ornithologists’ Union passed a resolution urging more stringent protection of native birds. Dr Oliver, Director of the Dominion Museum, drew attention to the havoc among New Zealand birds by the German owl which had increased alarmingly. Mrs P. Moncrieff, a New Zealander, was elected president for 1933. She is the first woman to occupy the position.
