FIXED DEPOSITS
REDUCTION IN INTEREST. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Melbourne, November 1. The trading banks have adopted the reduced interest rates on fixed deposits announced by the Compionwealth Bank last week, namely, three months, 2J per cent.; six months, 2J per cent.; twelve months, 3 per cent.; two years, 3J per cent. The rate of interest on fixed deposits has fallen by two per cent, in the last sixteen months.
