DRAMATIC INCIDENT
ACCUSED KNEELS IN COURT. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, September 26. The Police Court was startled this morning at the sight of an accused man dramatically dropping to his knees in the dock, clasping his hands above his head and calling on God to be his judge. “I am going to be your judge,” said the Magistrate, Mr Mosley. The man in the dock, George Percival Williams, aged 41, a carrier, was charged with drunkenness, committing mischief and assaulting a constable. He was sentenced to three months in gaol for assault.
