ERECTION OF SHOP
POWERS OF COUNTY COUNCIL. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, November 12. According to a judgment by Mr Justice Adams, the Waimairi County Council is not empowered to refuse a permit for the erection of a shop in a residential suburb under section 34 of the Town Planning Act. The judge held that town planning schemes were strictly related to the development of cities and boroughs, and that the Act distinguished between the town and regional planning.
