CHINESE WAR
BIG BATTLE PENDING TWO HUNDRED-MILE FRONT COMMUNIST AGITATORS ARRESTED (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) Shanghai, May 28. Having routed the Shansi armies along the Pekin-Hankow railway and chased them into the hilly region on the west of the line, Fengtien has now decided to carry out the onslaught on Feng Yuhsiang’s troops who are advancing between Tsangchow and Hochien. Consequently the major action may shortly be expected with 200,000 men aside over a front of 200 miles. On Sunday the Northerners on the Tient-sin-Pukow railway commenced aggressive and severe fighting, leaving the issue undecided. Tientsin messages state that the French concession police unearthed a Communist secret society, arresting five Chinese Communists whom they handed over to the native authorities, who summarily executed them. The documents seized were of an extreme nature similar to last year’s seizure at the Embassy at Pekin planning to overthrow the northern authorities.— United Sendee.
