LAND SALES AT GORE
“GLENCAIRN” RUN SOLD. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., acting under instruction of the Public Trustee in the estate of the late Mr John McDonough, Waikaia, offered at their rooms, Mersey street, on Saturday afternoon the well-known run, “Glencairn,” which is situated close to the Waikaia township. The property is a leasehold run comprising 7,340 acres, and was offered as a going concern with the live and dead stock. There was a very large attendance present. Bidding commenced at £7OOO and rose in £lOO bids to £7400, at which figure it wag knocked down to Mr J. A. Blaikie, Gore. A RIVERSDALE PROPERTY. On behalf of Mr William H. Muir, the same firm submitted to auction his education leasehold farm of 162 acres, on which there is a dwelling and eight loose-boxes, the property having been used during recent years for the training of racehorses. It is situated two and a-half miles from the Riversdale township, and the lease of the property is for a term of 21 years, expiring in 1935. There was only one bid of £4OO, and the property was passed in. A MATAURA FARM. The Southland Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ltd., offered oil behalf of the executors in the estate of the late Mr Robert Clearwater the lease of Lot 59, Plan 134, Lindhurst Hundred, containing 225 acres 1 rood 6 poles. The property is situated a little over a mile from Mataura, and on it there is an up-to-date six-roomed house, cow-byre and all necessary outbuildings. The term of the lease is for five years. There was no offer at auction, and the property was passed in.
