ANNUAL CONFERENCE CONCLUDES. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, June 9. The annual conference of the National Beekeepers’ Association concluded to-day. Remits were carried that the Minister of Railways be asked to reduce the freight on honey; that Magistrates should order speedy destruction or treatment of bees when beekeepers had been convicted of having diseased bees; that the Department of Agriculture be urged to bring the Ruakura State apiary up to date, and to establish an apiary in the South Island. The result of the honey competition was:—White granulated.—S. A. Orchard, Marlborough 1. Light amber granulated.— T. Best, Canterbury, 1. Light amber liquid.—T. Best, Canterbury, 1. The election of officers resulted:—President. —Mr R. Clark (Matamata); vice-presi-dent.—Mr C. A. Pope (Canterbury); executive.—Messrs R. Gibb (Southland), G. L. Hight (Canterbury), A. H. Davies (Waikato) and A. R. Bates (Taranaki).
