JAPAN’S CIVIL SERVANTS. (Sun Special). TOKYO, October 21. The Department of Finance proposes to dismiss 4600 higher and 44,150 petty Government officials in November in furtherance of its economy plan. It proposes to ask the Diet in December to grant £11,000,000 solace money. These figures do not include the proposed army and navy reductions and reductions in other departments.
