BOY DROWNED

A SISTER’S SILENCE. (Sun Special). LAUNCESTON, October 23. Another death by drowning occurred last evening, the victim being a lad, George Williams, aged 10, who resided with his parents at Invereek. Accompanied by his sister, he was collecting chips on the King’s wharf. His sister left him for a few minutes, and on returning missed her brother, but found his bag of chips. She went home but said nothing for two hours, when she told her mother that George was missing. A search was made and the police were informed. They dragged the river and found the dead boy’s body shortly after midnight.
