Mr W. H. G. Brown, supervisor of the Hamilton Telegraph Office, has been promoted to the position of superivsor at Gore,
A San Francisco cable states that Lieut Stefansson has left Canada for Australia where he will spend four months exploring the interior.
The status of the Post Office at Orepuk has been raised, and Mrs W. Duffy, of th Roslyn Office, has been promoted to the position of Post Mistress there. Mr John Ewan, Merrivale, has been asked to demonstrate on Clydesdales at the Otago A. and P. Association’s big stock demonstration, which will be held during the Otago Winter Show. According to the Wakatip Mail, Mr D. F. Murchison, who recently purchased Hotel Eichardt from Mr Van Paine, has leased the property to Mr Thos. Rutherford, who has successfully managed both the Grand and Club Hotels, Invercargill, for some years. Mr Murchison will probably take up residence in Southland’s capital.
