ELDERLY MAN KILLED. • 4 (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 18. A single man named Thomas Smith, 74 years of age, residing at Taita, received injuries last night which resulted fatally about 6.15 p.m. He went into the yard of a farmhouse where he was employed, and stumbled over a farm cultivator and se verdy injured his throat. He died before the Hospital was reached. DEATH IN THE STREET. DUNEDIN, May 18. William Graham, aged between 40 and 50, collapsed in the street and died on the way to the Hospital. A CARTER KILLED. WANGANUI, May 18. A middle aged man named Jack Meadows, a carter, married, with three children, was str-ck by a railway engine near Aramoho this evening and killed. Deceased was very deaf and did not hear the train- approaching.
