POULTRY INDUSTRY
REPRESENTATIONS TO THE GOVERNMENT. PROGRESSIVE POLICY ADVOCATED. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 18. A deputation, comprising the executive of the New Zealand Poultry Association, waited on the Minister of Agriculture and asked for a more progressive policy regarding tha poultry industry, which could be mada worth £20,000,000 a year to the country. The number of instructors was quite inadequate, and their status should be raised to that of inspectors in other branches of tha Agricultural Department. The Minister was urged to send the chief poultry expert and a prominent poultry dealer to The Hague Conference in 1921. The question of adulteration of poultry foods was also touched on.
The Minister said he would take time to look into the representations made. The requests would receive his very careful consideration, and a reply would be forwarded later.
