KILLED BY FALL FROM TRAM.

(Per United Press Association)

WELLINGTON, August 20.

The man knocked down by a tramcar on Monday died in the Hospital without regaining consciousness. The only clue to his identity is the name G. Valler written on his hatband. FATAL CYCLE COLLISION. AUCKLAND, August 20. At an inquest to-day the coroner returned a verdict that Leonard Norman Fisher died on July 19 from injuries caused by a collision with a cycle ridden by Carl Melville Hoffman, and that the bicycle was properly lighted. The coroner expressed the opinion that Hoffman, who was riding down an incline, should have been able to see the deceased and to have avoided him. The police formally charged Hoffman with manslaughter. He was remanded till August 28. Bail was allowed in £2OO.
