Further communications between the i Governments of New Zealand and Victoria ) on the subject of intercolonial cable rates have been made public. New Zealand agrees to a reduction in the tariff provided "Victoria contributes to the subsidy for a New Zealand cable, aad the colony of Victoria agrees to do so provided New Zaaland is willing to pay her quota towards subsidising a line between Victoria and Tasmania. The Argus, in an article on the subject, showa how the prohibitive rates charged on the New Zealand cable hamper traffic, and quotes figures to prove that there has been a falling off in the cable revenue during the past two years. The Hon. Mr Griffiths, Premier of Queensland, has completed the draft of the Federation Accepting Bill, and the measure will be submitted for the approval of the various colonies concerned.
