INVERCARGILL HORSE MARKET.

Messrs J. A. Mitchell and Co. report that on Saturday last close on 60 horses came under the hammer, including. 20 of Mr William Baird’s contract animals, with drays, harness, scoops, etc., he having made up his mind to sell at market rates, as he had no immediate use for the animals. A complete clearance of the horses and plant was made, best geldings reaching £47 to £43, and medium sorts £4O, £37 10s, £37, £32, and down to £3O, while stiff inferior sorts ranged from £25 to £l3, other vendors’ animals bringing similar prices. The firm have decided to - hold their midwinter show horse sale on sth July/ and have already numerous entries.
