ALL SAINTS CHURCH.

At the annual meeting of the parisioners of All Saints Anglican church, Gladstone, held last evening, the following report was submitted: — Your Committee present herewith the Annual Statement of Receipts and Expenditure for year ending 30th June, 1904. The offertories for the year show an increase over the previous year of £22 19s 2d, a result largely due to the inauguration of a system of collecting by envelopes, which has been carried on during the greater part of the year. . A Floral Fete was ' held in the Queen’s Park in February last, and proved an eminently attractive and enjoyable function, but on account of several counter-attractions on the same day and unfavourable weather conditions, the profit was not so large as had been anticipated by those who worked so admirably and unselfishly in its organisation. The necessity of the erection of a Parish Hall has engaged the earnest attention of the Committee, but owing to the absence from the colony of one of the trustees of the church property, it has been found impossible until his return to arrange for the new mortgage which would have to be given to raise the necessary addition to the funds in hand, which now amount to £145 8s 6d,

The choir, under the conduct of Mr Horris, has continued to improve in efficiency and number of members. Miss Chilman having resigned her position as organist, Miss McGill has been appointed. It will be noticed that the balance of assets over liabilities has increased satisfactorily by £57 15s 7d, the amount at 30th June, 1903, being £B4l 6s 6d, the present balance being £899 2s Id.

Seven meetings of (the Committee have been held during the year, tbe attendance of members being as follows : —O. J. Broad, 7 ; G. Miller, 7 ; T. S. Boyds, 7; H. Cooper, 6 ; G. Stevens, 6 ; F. V. Raymond, 2 ; A. Newman, 2 ; R. Day, 2 ; J. W. Baker, 1.
