SHEEP-DIPPING CASE.

In the S.M. Court, Invercargill, on July Ist, Mr McCarthy gave judgment in the case in which Sutton Bros, sued J. Hatch for £45 12s for alleged negligence in connection with the dipping of 280 lambs. After the sheep were treated 52 of them died, and ,the Magistrate, in giving his decision, remarked that whether the cause of death was scalding, or the absorption ot arsenic, or both, he was forced to the conclusion that the primary cause of death was that the liquid in the bath had been too strongly charged with arsenic. He therefore found that there was no contributory negligence on the part of Sutton Bros., for whom judgment was given for £33 12*. with costs, £lO 19s.
