DACRE.

Messrs Scully Bros’, residence at Dacre was the scene of a surprise party on Wednesday evening, 22nd ult., when a very enjoyable time was spent. The neighbours, and even friends from a distance, were well represented. Sixteen couples were on the floor for nearly every dance until 2.45 a.m., when a start was made for home. Mr Burgoyne proved a most efficient and patient M.G. The dance music was rendered by Misses Caulfield and Hodgson, and Messrs McFadyen, Lee, and Burke. Songs were given by Messrs Burke, Lament, McFadyen, and Hodgson, and recitations by the Hogson brothers. Several step dances were given by Messrs Bnrke, McFadyen, and Scully.
