RYAL BUSH.

The Ryal Bush bachelors gave their annual ball on 15th Odt., which proved a most successful gathering. Unfortunately the night was wet, and prevented a few being present, but the hall (which was prettily decorated with flags and evergreens) was comfortably filled. The bachelors mustered in full force, and though three have gone over to the ranks of the benedicts 'since their last ball, half-a-dozen came to fill up the gap. About 25 couples took part in the grand march, to excellent music supplied by Messrs Moylan and Rodger. Songs were given by Messrs Pert, Patterson, Halpin, and Bang, and by Mesdames Lang, Patterson and McDonald, and Misses Wakeling and Pert. Mr P. Coombes made an efficient M. 0.. Great credit is due to Mr J. Mclntosh, who took chief management, for the satisfactory manner in which the arrangements

were carried oat, The ladies’ dresses were very pretty, and greatly admired, and I think by the look of 'hi igaseveral bachelors will be missing before next year’s ball, or rather be converted into staid married men. A nice little dance was held on 20rh Oct. at Rosebanks, Ryal Bash, the residence of Mr James Gilmour, in honour of that gentleman’s birthday. About 24 persons danced to excellent music supplied by Mr Grilmoar’s two sons and Mr Wishart. Songs were contributed by nearly all present. The fun was kept up till about two a.m., when the company sung “ For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow ” and broke up, all well pleased with their night’s entertainment.
