STOCK SALES.
At the Junction sale yards on Monday there was good competition for best quality fat cattle, and the bulb of the yarding changed hands ; but for store cattle (excepting best dairy cows and turnip bullocks) there was practically no enquiry. Fat Cattle —95 yarded. Only 2 pens of bullocks, which brought £8 10s and £8 12s 6d ; cows and heifers, best, £7 10s to £8 —one extra heavy, vended by Mr John Evans, £9 ; medium weights, £6 10s to £6 10a. Store Cattle —156 yarded, dairy cows bringing up to £6 10s ; steers to £5 10s, others unsaleable, except at low rates. Fat Sheep—l43B penned. 2-tooth ewes and wethers, 14s to 14s 6d. Very few of this class forward, and they met keen competition. Best heavy ewes, 12s to 13s 6d; good, 10s 6d to 11s 6d ; light, to 7s. Store Sheep—lsß7 in, mostly lambs and old ewes. Lambs brought 3s 4d to 7s; ewes, 2s to 6s, according to condition.
