LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,—In accordance with the brief announcement made several months ago I beg, to intimate that I shall be a Candidate for your Suffrages at the forthcoming Mayoral Election. lam led to do so from the fact that I have been a resident of Invercargill for thirty - eight years, with an experience of local business and requirements gained from service as a member of several Local Bodies, including the Borough Council, and as an officer of the Corporation for some years, and that a number of the Eatepapers have expressed a wish that I should offer myself for the honourable position of Mayor. Should you favour me with your cotffidence and place me at the head of the poll, I shall undertake the duties of the office determined to spare no effort to further the welfare of the town, so far as that can be affected by prudent and economical administration of its affairs.
