District News

DIPTON. The annual picnic of the Dipton and Riverside Presbyterian Sunday schools took place at Hillend Bush on Saturday last. The young people and their teachers were favoured with fine weather and enjoyed themselves thoroughly. The district was visited by a sharp thunderstorm on Sunday and Monday, especially on the second occasion. The rain which fell in some quarters was badly wanted, and has brought the grass on at a great rate. Report has it that the dairy factory is doing very well. The Pernhills church in connection with the Dipton parish has been completed by the contractor, Mr A. W. Mcßean, and presents a very nice appearance. It will doubtless be opened for worship at an early date.
