There were 30,000 present to witness the Austral Wheel Race in Melbourne last week. It was won by Carpenter (Victoria); Body (New Zealand), 2; Scott (Victoria), 3. Body took command as the final lap was entered and led almost to the finish, when Carpenter, by a fine spurt, caught him and got home just by half a wheel. Time —4rain., 41 l-sth secs. Five mile international race —Body, 1; Ken Lewis, 2 ; Green, 3, Won by three lengths. Time—12min. 4' 2-6th secs.
