Chickwheat, no demand, but is worth, nominally, up to 3s 3d, on trucks, wayside stations—usual terms. Ryegrass—Business is not possible, except at very low prices. Chaff—lf this' could be bought at about 2s lOd on trucks business would be possible, but outside markets offer no inducement at an advance. Stock Sales.—We held our usual fortnightly sale at Wallacetown on Tuesday last. Entries were large and more than met requirements, a few pens being turned out. Brices were down in comparison with last sale. Fat bullocks sold at L 6 10s to L 7 for medium to prime quality. Fat cows, L 4 to L 6; lighter, L 3 5s to L 3 15s. Fat sheep.—Wethers off the shears, 8s ; in the wool, from 12s fid to 13s 3d; shorn ewes, fat, os 4d to os lOd ; store cattle, steers and heifers realised from L2 7s 6d to Ll 17s 6d; milch cows, L 3 to L 4 15s ; yearlings brought from 10s to 25s a head. Store sheep.—Demand was flat. Ewes and wethers (2-tooth) sold at 7s to 10s; crossbred ewes with lambs, 8s 3d to 10s 6d; old ewes with lambs, 7s to 8s 6d. Skins, Hides, Tallow, etc. —We submitted a very good catalogue on Monday last and bidding was brisk. Q-ood conditioned skins; full wooled crossbreds brought up to 4s 9d ; balf-breds, 4s to 4s 4d ; merinos, 3s to 8s 7d ; horse hair, Is l-|d per lb ; tallow, up to 7s 4d per cwt.
