FOREST HILL.
A few farmers have started shearing, but owing to the unsettled state of the weather little progress is being made. The wool is lighter than usual, but the quality is good. During the past few months the ladies of the district have been busily engaged preparing goods for a bazaar and sale of work in aid of the church funds. The date has been fixed for the 22nd December, and the bazaar will be held in the Forest Hill Hall. The management, I understand, is in the hands of the ladies, who will no doubt carry out the affair in firstclass style.
Cycling is fast becoming a popular pastime among the rising generation of Forest Hill, and several entered for the race to McDonald’s, Limehills and back. Results :M. Grilmour (Winton), 1 ; J. Hardy (Forest Hill), 2; Woodnorth (Winton), 3. Cricket P No, thanks, I’m not having any just now. Winton Record deals with that.
There is some talk of making preparations for the annual picnic on Christmas Day. The proceeds from the concert and dance held in the Hall on November 19amounted to £6 Is. The expenses were £2 17s.- The balance was divided between the band and the hall funds.
