report having held their fortnightly sale of stock at the Invercargill yards on Monday, to avoid clashing with the holiday. The attendance for an off day was good, and the entry of fat and store sheep and store cattle was a good one, Out in fat cattle, excepting a few pens, the quality was very poor, in fact, not equal to forward stores. The total entries were 1718 fat and 2830 store sheep, 50 fat and 166 store cattle, and 5 pigs* Fat Cattle —Best bullocks, L 9 to L 7 10s ; medium, L 6 to L 7 10a ; thin sorts, L 4 2s 6d to L 5 10s ; cows and heifers, L 6 to L 4. Store Cattle—Yearlings, 20s to 25s ; 2-year old, 30s to 40s ; dairy cows, L 4 to L 4 10s for best; inferior, L2 to L 3 ; grown steers, up to L 4; small, 50s to 60s. Fat Sheep—We topped the market with 82 prime wethers on account of Messrs McKenzie Bros, at 14s lid, Messrs Leckie and Co. being the purchasers; other lots brought 13s 7d to 12s 6d for best; medium, 9s 9d to 12s ; ewes from 10s 7d to 9s. Store Sheep—We got top price (10s 8d) for 50 good hoggets on account of Mr Dryedale; others ranged from 10s 3d to 6s 6d.

Since last reporting we have held stock sales at Gore and Winton, and prices were nearly equal to those quoted. We sold 200 hoggets at 10s 6d in Winton—an exceptionally good line—others as above. Horse Market—On Saturday we had a medium entry only and several buyers were not supplied. Best draughts forward were only of medium quality and aged, still they ranged from L22to L 25 for best y inferior, Ll2 to Ll 5 ; old, L 5 to LIO. Hacks are still dull of sale, but spring cart horses are eagerly looked for.
