The best cards for the day were returned respectively by Miss Caldwell and H. Jones. The final event was the plaving off for the, September medal by Mrs and Miss Saxon. Both players well caddied and followed by a full field of enthusiasts, who watched the game with great interest, drove good length balls from the tee. Miss Saxon’s second overran green into the river-side bunker from which it required two- strokes to dislodge, it: while Mrs/ Saxon’s second fell just short of the green. Both were on the green hi their next, but the task set the- younger player was too great, arid by missing a, long put failed to halve; Mrs Saxon one up, and winner of the medal.
