PRIMITIVE METHODIST CONFERENCE.

(By Telegraph.) WELLINGTON. January 15. At the Primitive Methodist Conference yesterday, applications from ministers from other churches to enter the Primitive Methodist Church were received, but not granted. Arrangements were made for the return to England of the Rev. J. Hindes, on the ground of illhealth. It was decided that a church be built at Inglewood, the conference promising to render financial help towards it. An application to divide Geraldine district and make Temuka a mission station was refused. Denniston was made a separate station and the amalgamation of Westport and Waimangaroa was agreed to. The probationers’ examination committee’s report being favourable, all the probationers passed in their respective years. The remainder of the day was passed in discussing the stationing of ministers, which will be concluded to-morrow.
