(Received 1.45 a.m., Nov. 24th.) “ AUSTRALIA.” The motion given notice of by the Premier in the Assembly yesterday proposing an alteration of the name of this colony to “ Australia ” came before the House to-day, when after 'a lengthy debate, the motion was adopted by 56 to 17. SHIPPING. Melbourne. Nov. 23. Sailed, this afternoon—Union Company’s Manapouri for the Bluff. Mr Charles Johnston, of Wellington, is a passenger by her. Arrived—Union Company’s Rotomahana, from the Bluff, this evening.
