TEMUKA.

At the E.M. Court, Temuka, yesterday, there were a large number of oaaes set down for hearing, bot the Resident Magistrate was unable to attend through illness. Mr Wills, Clerk of the Court, sent for K. F. Gray, Esq,, J.P., and he disposed of two esses. John Toner, better known as “ Joe Tichbourne,” was charged "Pith being drank and disorderly on the pterions evening. Constable Morton said that the man was usually quiet and harmless but when arrested he was almost bordering on lunacy, otherwise his character was good, tie was sent to gaol for a week. George Ramsay, remanded from the previous court day, again 'appeared, but as the R.M. was not present the ease could not be dealt with. The Court then rose. TEMUKA LINSEED FACTORY. A special meeting of the Directors of the above Factory took place yesterday afternoon, at Mr Asbwell’s office. Present—Messrs R. H. Fostiethwaite (Chairman), J T. M. Hayhorst, E. Pilbrow, J. W. Miles, W. Lyon, E. Brown and R. A. Barker. The manager, Mr Monahan, was also in attendance. The manager, in answer to questions, stated that the original building, which cost about £l2B 13* 6d, was burnt, as well as about 15 cwt. of fibre. It was proposed to erect a small building near the present one with the iron saved from the fire. The meeting then terminated. The nest ordinary meeting is to be held on the 7th December. AROWHENUA TOWN BOARD. A meeting of the Arowbenqa Town Board was held last evening. Present —Messrs £. Lee (Chairman), Edgeler, Proudlock and Hustin, CORRESPONDENCE. From Messrs Priest and Holdgatej offering to sell drainage pipes to the Board. From Mr S. Meyer, asking bis name to be struck off the roll and that of Ml E. Yallenders substituted. RESERVES. Mr Edgeler said with regard to settling with the Road Board, many were not satisfied with the reserves given. The Chairman said the matter hfitj been settled last meeting. FINANCIAL. The Chairman said that the Board bad not yet received the money which was in the bands of the Government. It was resolved that the and Mr Frondlooke wait on Mr Baker. Tho meeting adjourned for a fort* night. ______________
