Children's Sports Committee.

At the meeting of this committee on the 30th ult. Rev.

W. E. Clarke presided, others present being Mesdames Eccles and Wallace, Miss Whitmore, Captain Gillespie, Lieutenant Wallace, Messrs. Beaglehole, Cron, Rutherford, Codd, Brothers Leo and Pamphilius and Pastor Steed, Mr. Beaglehole reported that a musical programme was being arranged. It would include the National Anthem, hymns of thanksgiving, and two original songs, He also reported that the sub-Com-mittee had decided on the site for the sports at Mulinuu. Mr. Beaglehole next proposed that the sum of be allotted as prize money. Mr. Rutherford seconded, and the proposal was carried. The Purchasing Sub committee reported progress in the arrangements for supplying the children with refreshments. It was left with the Committee to purchase 3,000 buns, 200 gallons ras perry, also sweets and peanuts. Captain Gillespie, on behalf of the Processions Committee mentioned the suggestion that a number of children should take part in the procession, and the matter was left with Mr. Beaglehole to arrange, A further meeting of the committee took place on Wednesday evening.
