Decoration Committee.

This Committee met on Wednesday evening in the Court House, there being a very good attendance. Certain critics on the Beach have been most assiduous in their outcry against the apparent waste of funds by this Committee, but from reports put before the Committee it would appear that the balance is well on the right side of the ledger. Such being the case, in view of the fine display which is gradually coming to light, the criticisms referred to may be taken as complimentary to the Committee, who are evidently making the utmost of their resources. The Samoa natives are most enthusiastic over their Arch, and mean to make it something to be talked about in the future. A real live business subCommittee are right out to keep tag of the finances, and a sure acquisition is the inclusion of Mr. Dalton, the Public Works Engineer, whose expert assistance in the scheme of decorations will be invaluable. The adjourned meeting of the Decoration Committee will be held in the Court House on Monday evening, 12th May, at 8 o'clock, to receive the reports of the subCommittees, A full atteudance is requested at this meeting, as several important matters will be up for discussion, and it is desirable that the work on the arches should be expedited as much as possible. ,
