SOUTHERN MAORI SEAT.

NOMINATIONS. (per Press Aaaoeiaiiou.) Chrstchurch, Fob. 8. Nominations I'or the Southern Maori Seat closed to-day. They are Teone Matapuua Triliaua, Henare Parata, and John Hopero Yvharewiti Uru. A statement has been made by Sir dames Carroll that Parata is the Government candidate. Hori Tatuki Topi, who was nominated, withdrew in his favour. Sir Jdmes Carroll stays in the South Island till after the election.
