The half-yearly report of the Labour Council states that it will take twentyseven .years to bring Unionism to the state of perfection enjoyed prior to the strike and it was all demolished in twentyseven daj r s by direct action. The Council advises Unionists to give up strikes or alter the system of organisation. Referring to tho present condition of Unionism tho report ssys that never in tho history of Australia have employers shown such vindictiveness towards workers. Employers m?o t.king full advantage of surplus labour and the hungry and unemployed. Tho Council suggests that all Unions be grouped on lines of trade allinity, such groups being formed into an industrial Federations, linked into a Federal Body hy the formation of an Australian Labour Council.
