Official despatches state that 160, 000 Turks, being over 50 per cent, of Falkenhayn’s entire army, deserted during the march from Constantinople to Palestine. MEDAL FOR, GALLIPOLI VETERANS. ' DIFFICULT MATTER TO SETTLE. Reuter. London, Jan. 22. In the House - of Commons, replyinggto Colonel Leslie Wilson Reading, Mr J. I. Macphesou, Under Secretary, stated that tho Imperial and Dominion Governments were sympathetically considering the question of issuing a medal or decoration to tho troops who p rticipated in the operations onXLllipoli, but no decision was yet reached. The question, lie said, was extremely difficult, involving a good cloil of interviewing and correspondence with the various Governments concerned.
