The New York Times’ Paris correspondent says that France is awaiting confidently the great German oßensivc on the West front, which is believed to be imminent. This will be the decisive and perhaps the final battle of tlio war. Joseph Reiuach and other writers opine that Nancy will be one of the principal objectives. It is known that .the Germans are heavily concentrating forces in Lorraine, but France lias perfected its defences and the enemy utt mk is doomed to failure.

We also air-raided Germany and dropped tsVo tons of bombs on steel works at Thierville railway siding, and at Bernsdorlf and Aruaville Juuciton.

LUDENOQRFF AND HINDfNBURG DISAGREE.

ON WEST FRONT POLICY. LUDENDORFF FEARS THE CONSEQUENCES. Received Jan. 24, 9 a.m. Washington, Jan. 23. The Chicago Daily News correspondent on the French front says serious differences are reported between Hindenburg and Lndendorff. It is believed the latter is opposed to a big offensive on the West front.
