Received March <3, 10 a.m. London, March 3,

Sir John French’s bulletin states: We checked the enemy/a activity In the Ypres region and repulsed today au attack which was preceded by a heavy bombardment on a portion of onr line. The Princess Patricia's infantry, which was on the left, exhibited great dash and killed eleven of the occupants of the tren ohes and drove off tbe remainder. It also blew up the trench. The Canadian losses were trifling. We have steadily progressed by skilful trench work near La Bassee and completely mastered the enemy’s, snipers and onr casualties, are in consequence, greatly reduced. Our artillery forced the German batteries to change their positions at'several points, and increased onr ascendancy. A communique states that despite the storm progress continues between Perthes and Beansejouf, where the enemy suffered extremely heavy losses.

On Sunday night we captured trenches and gained three hundred metres at Laohapelotte, in the Vosges.
