Downes, chairman of the Bulls Committee, stated that liiq school had made Application to the Education Board for the establish, ment of such a school at Bulls. Ho pointed out that there were sufficient scholars holding proficiency certificates to guarantee the average attendance required. if the Sandop Scholars would attend the |3uUq school it would make a Very tnnbl\ stronger school. The salary of $ teacher would only be • £l5O per annum. Tho technical classes already formed in that centre could bfi placed under his control, and provide a supplementary salary. A school room is available, and all tho necessary equipment is provided, He understood that the Bandog Com-, mittep were making a similar ap. plication, and it was with the idea of combining the two that tho deputation had made the visit to Saudou.

Mr J. H. Perrett, chairman of the Saudou Committee, explained io the deputation that his Qqm>. niitteo have been moving for. soffivj time with the object of getting' ft High School established in Saudou They were not quite so strong as Bulls in the matter of proficiency certificates, but they expected from their central position tP drayr ft number of scholars from the spr*. rounding schools, and it was their intention to make application to the Board after the school examination, when they expected that several more scholars would be proficient. A general discussion followed, and a unanimous.opinion was expressed that a High School is required iq > the district, those already established at Marten and FeiMing tye'infe too far for (he children’'' to travel every day. 'lt was recognised by all present that only one school would be opened j the question was which town would serve the district best, and it was eventually decided that each committee would work independently, and If the Board sees fit to establish a school in either centre that school would receive tap support of tho whole, district. “
